Amatullah Kapadia

Amatullah Kapadia is a Data Engineer based in Houston, Texas, whose career reflects resilience, intellectual curiosity, and an independent approach to growth. Born and raised in India, she immigrated to Canada at the age of 13 — an experience that shaped her adaptability and global perspective. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Waterloo. While her degree provided a strong foundation in analytical thinking, systems logic, and structured problem solving, her entry into technology was largely self-directed. During her undergraduate years, she did not secure traditional internships. Rather than viewing this as a setback, she saw it as motivation. She began teaching herself programming, data structures, and large-scale data processing — building skills beyond her curriculum. That initiative gave her a competitive edge and ultimately led to opportunities in oil and gas, consulting at Accenture, and later Amazon, where she further developed her expertise in data engineering.
